On 26 November 2020, Professor Lai gave the Fudan Financial Online Public Lecture #54 (复旦金融公开课 #54), “One Currency, Two Markets: China’s Attempt to Internationalize the Renminbi” (“一币两市：人民币国际化之路”). The English lecture was based on his forthcoming book of the same title. It was reported that a total of more than 370,000 people watched the live broadcast of the public lecture on Sina Finance and Baidu alone.

On 22 June 2021, Professor Edwin L C Lai gave a presentation in AGI Public Policy Webinar: The Internationalization of the Renminbi. Based on his current work, Professor Lai examined China's strategy of internationalizing the RMB and used an empirical model to assess the status of the RMB, compared to the USD and the EURO.
